Please ensure you

Terms & Conditions of Adoption below as puppies are only

Alternatively, we can put you in contact with other reputable breeders
who are soon to have litters. Please note that we will only recommend those breeders that we
personally know and trust.
Have you considered the benefits of adopting
an older Keeshond? Often breeders
are looking to place an older Keeshond in a good home, now that their
show days are over.
If you are keen to adopt an older Keeshond (remembering that they will
come to you trained),
just contact us and we can put you onto a reputable breeder.
Terms &
Conditions of NawtiKees Adoptions
NawtiKees
puppies are adopted only under a strict agreement between breeder and
purchaser.
New puppy owners will be
required to sign a contract.
The
terms and conditions of
adoption are as follows:
- Potential new families will be thoroughly vetted
(questioned) by the
breeders. The Breeders retain the right of refusal at all times.
- We will only sell a puppy after careful screening of the
purchaser, in order to ascertain mutual suitability of Keeshond and
buyer. NawtiKees will not sell unless the new home is as good as,
or better, than we can provide.
- We prefer to meet you in person, where possible, prior to
any agreement as to availability or suitability.
- Backyards of new families must be fully fenced and safe for
both puppy and adult Keeshond.
- Prospective new families must be prepared to make
the puppy part of the family, not just a backyard accessory.
Keeshond DO NOT respond to being dumped in backyards.
- Puppies adopted as pets must be desexed, and proof of
desexing will be required. An additional fee of $200 is charged
at the time of purchase which will be fully refunded on proof of
desexing.
- Puppies adopted as pets will be registered on the 'limited
register' (Royal NSW Canine Council)
- If, for whatever reason, you cannot keep your NawtiKees
puppy, you must contact the breeder and advise them. Under no
circumstances are you to "re-sell" your puppy.
- You must be prepared to maintain contact with us to ensure
that you have the support and guidance needed to bring up a healthy,
happy and well-adjusted Keeshond.
- Any support or advice required will be happily provided by
us, or through another reputable Keeshond breeder (as recommended by
us).
- All Puppies come registered with the Royal NSW Canine
Council, vaccinated, micro-chipped, wormed etc. You will be
provided with a full 'NawtiKees Survival Pack' to help you in your
learning.
The
health and quality of our Keeshonds is of paramount importance to us. Your continued interaction with us will help
to ensure that you are provided with advice and support throughout the
life of your precious new family member.
Please note
that puppies can experience stress when going to a new home.
Signs include sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, diarrhoea and/or
constipation. This should not automatically be taken as a sign of
poor health of the pup. However it is critical that you are
vigilant and do not hesitate to take your new pup to a vet if signs of
distress worsen. Try reducing the stress by slowly introducing
them to other family members (human or animal), limit petting times,
and provide a ‘safe haven’ (such as a kennel or preferably a crate)
that they can relax in. Whilst we understand the excitement of a
new puppy, the things YOU do in the first few weeks/months will shape
the puppies development, temperament and future. The best advice
we can give you is to be patient – take it slow!
